Pet Food
It would be easy to give our customers’ an “a la carte” pet food portfolio instead of customizing solutions that work for their business. But we don’t do easy.
We currently operate 3 different extruders, and offer a wide variety of products. We have experience manufacturing pet food in the Super Premium, Mid-Range, and Economy sector. No matter the ingredient declaration; nutrition is the focus. We are proud to say that we will try anything! This idea comes right from the President’s desk. We understand that every customer has unique ideas, and we are keen to attempt extrusion of any combination of ingredients. Experimentation with new formulas is an opportunity for learning and growth, and it allows us to showcase our commitment to animal health.
Specialized Extrusion
It would be easy to say “we don’t make that” or “we can’t get into that type of extrusion.” Species diversity is at the heart of our extrusion business. We don’t do easy.

Custom Blending
It would be easy to tell others in the pet industry that we are unable to support their custom blending requirements, or that “we’re too busy with extrusion.” But we don’t do easy.
Mixing and blending custom ingredients is at the core of our business. Since we accurately mix and blend ingredients for our extrusion process, we also offer those same precision blending capabilities for those with a different end process in mind.
Transportation
It would be easy to tell our customers that our product is available “FOB our dock”. It would be easy to tell our suppliers that “isn’t our problem.” But we don’t do easy.
Spectrum Feed Services Ltd. operates with a fleet of 7 trucks, affording us the ability to haul the majority of our own ingredients. This allows us to have strict quality control over incoming materials and associated transport procedures.
We also have trucks dedicated to the delivery of finished pet food, and offer logistics across Ontario with our own fleet. Our logistics team can also coordinate shipping with many reliable outside carriers.
About Us!
In 1991, Spectrum Feed Services Ltd opened its doors for the first time. The partners came together with the intention of supplying a superior level of nutritional services than was currently available in the industry. Our success came by applying technical knowhow in a practical and efficient way, largely in dairy cow nutrition.
At this time, many new concepts were validated at the university level and proven to improve animal performance and reduce feed costs. To do this effectively, we required our own feed production capability, subsequently purchasing a closed feed mill in Moorefield and extensively renovating it to our needs.
